The South Tyrolean Wine Route stretches from Nalles to Bolzano and the Oltradige, via the Bassa Atesina to Salorno. This area comprises about 90% of the South Tyrolean Wine production, including the typical varieties of wine such as the Merlot and Lagrein, as well as the Pinot Girgio and the Chardonnay. By the way, the South Tyrolean Wine Route is the most ancient of Italy.

Every year in spring the comunities and towns along the South Tyrolean Wine Route host a special kind of event. Then the South Tyrolean Wine Route Weeks introduce you to the high quality wines grown in these southern latitudes. There are lectures, wine tastings, cultural events and guided tours to the most beautiful spots along the Wine Route. Even a champagne breakfast is waiting for you!

A stunning opening ceremony on the first night and the “night of open wine cellars” scheduled on the last night will render the South Tyrolean Wine Route Weeks an unforgettable experience.

There are two more wine events I would like to mention:
The so-called “Bozner Weinkost”, a culinary wine event which is part of the South Tyrolean Wine Route Weeks, and the “Unterlandler Weinkostwoche” hosted in October.
