Archeoparc Val Senales

Retrace the life of Oetzi, the Iceman, in the Archeoparc in Val Senales.

In the genuine Val Senales, strictly speaking in Madonna di Senales, there is a special destination for families, called Archeoparc. In this interactive museum you can not only retrace the life of Oetzi, but also experience various activities on your own. On certain days you can try to make a fire on your own, to mill flour or to bake bread. Trying archery might merely be an activity that is for the boys, while girls might be charmed by making Neolithic jewellery.

The Archeoparc Val Senales is known as an interactive museum. The exhibition is completed by a permanent exhibition on Oetzi and his contemporaries. Under the open sky, there are huts built in the way they existed in the period of the Iceman, in between there are plants of those times, that is to say more than 5,000 years ago. In fact, every detail in the park has been adapted to the period of the Iceman. From the park you can also enjoy a great view of the Passo di Tisa, where the glacial mummy was found in 1991.

Regarding tickets, there are family reductions. There is also a museum shop and a café, ideal for concluding a great day on holidays. The Archeoparc is open from April to the beginning of November. By the way: if you would like to visit the glacial mummy, you can do so in the capital of South Tyrol. The Archaeologic Museum in Via Museo in Bolzano custodies the Iceman in a cold storage cell. However, also this museum provides a series of offers for kids an families.

> from Tuesdays to Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm
> on feast Mondays (25 April, 13 June, 19 September, 3 October) and in the months July and August, the museum is also open on Mondays.
> guided tours on request the whole year round (at least 15 persons)

PLEASE NOTE that the ArcheoParc remains closed from 16 - 23 June.
