Starting point for our ski tour to Mount Einachtspitze in the Stubai Alps is the hamlet Ento in the Val Ridanna, where we leave our car at the parking space near the ski lift. We hike up to the top of the ski slope before we follow the forest road which leads us directly into the forest. The following 250 metres of altitude are quite steep and exhausting.
Having crossed the forest, however, we finally reach the beautiful alpine pastures around the Schneideralm mountain hut. Right in front of us we can see the wonderful north slopes of fresh powder snow. We continue our tour heading towards South and cross a rather steep channel at the foot of Mount Einachtspitze before we reach its peak and small peak cross hiking along the mountain ridge. From here, we enjoy a breathtaking view of the Stubai Alps with its two highest peaks, Mount Tallone Grande and Mount Punta Alta.
Finally, we descend on our skis on the ascent route. While the broad slopes in the upper section provide very nice skiing, the section through the forest is less pleasant.
Please note: This is a very popular ski mountaineering route, offering very beautiful views of the surrounding mountain panorama. While the forest section is quite steep and challenging, the upper section doesn’t present any difficulties.
