Belpiano-Malga San Valentino Skiing Area

This skiing area at the Resia Pass provides a stunning view on Lake Resia with its steeple that soars out of the waters

The sun-spoiled skiing area between South Tyrol, North Tyrol and the Swiss Engadine was founded by the fusion of the single skiing areas Belpiano (Schöneben) and Malga San Valentino (Haideralm): This results today in 65 km of slopes and good snow until spring. The downhill runs are accessible by several lift facilities and a ski bus service: The Belpiano Gondola Lift starts on the western shores of Lake Resia, whereas the Malga San Valentino Cable Car is located at the edge of San Valentino alla Muta. The San Valentino-Belpiano Cable Car connects the two areas with each other.

Most of the slopes are easy and medium difficult. The highlights include the Höllental Slope (Hell Valley) with view on Lake Resia and its church tower in the lake, and the 4 km long adventure downhill run. Also the outdoor playground Schöni's Kinderland, the fun slope featuring the first and only two-level double twister of the Alps and the multiple award-winning Belpiano Snow Park characterise this area. The Belpiano Hut, however, was enlarged for the ski season 2022/23.

The Malga San Valentino Skiing Area is well-known for the eponymous mountain inn and as a starting point for paragliders. 5 km of ski routes complete the winter offer. Belpiano-Malga San Valentino is part of the Ortler Skiarena and the Two Country Skiarena in North and South Tyrol. Lake Resia at its foot offers some very special winter activities such as winter kiting and ice sailing.
