Winter hike from Bulla to Alpe di Siusi

Through the canyon of Bulla above Ortisei up to the snowy Alpe di Siusi - a tip for a wonderful winter hike combined with sledding

Bulla (Pufels) is a small village on the southern hillside at Ortisei in the Val Gardena valley. There our walking-tour to Alpe di Siusi starts. At the market square (at the church) we take the road in south direction, first flat then lightly rising. At the point where the snowy meadows end and the woods start, we find the Lavies farm, where we warm up ourselves with a hot drink. The first part of our tour runs in the shadow. Now the path leads up, it is wide and covered with snow.

We walk through the woods of the canyon of Bulla which forms a beautiful and isolated valley between Mt. Bullaccia and Mt. Piz. Finally the first sunlight falls from the Siusi Alp, soon the woods lift and we reach the ski-slope. We carry on up to the sunny snowy landscape of Alpe di Siusi and turn off to the hotel Icaro, where we have lunch and enjoy an amazing view to the wintry Alpe di Siusi with Sciliar and the Sassolungo Group. Back we take the same way.

At the level of the hotel Monte Piz the path starts to be suitable as a gorgeous sledge run. Those who took the sledge now will have a lot of fun! Notice: The data indicated refer to the entire route, including return trip, on foot.
