Watch out on South Tyrol’s roads

Since 2003 a new traffic code is in force on Italy’s roads. You must use dipped headlights during the day while travelling on motorways and major roads outside cities. Motorbikes have to use them all the time.

Exceeding the speed limit is punished with heavy fines: Exceeding the limit by 10 km/h with a fine of € 100 and more; by 40 km/h and more the driving license is withdrawn for several months.

Remember: Speeding and other traffic offences are subject to on-the-spot fines.
