Hiking to the alpine pastures of Monte Cervina
Hiking at the foot of the highest mountain of Val Sarentino Alps.
From Saltusio at the beginning of Val Passiria, we take the Monte Cervina funicular up to the mountain station Bergflur Klammeben (tavern at 1,980 m).
First of all we take the path n° 8A in order to reach the trail n° 40, leading us down to Monte Cervina refuge (1,986 m) and the Tallner Alm alpine pasture (2,022 m). From this point we follow the rather plain trail marked 2B until we reach the Hintereggalm and Mahdalm, past Lake Rotmoos.
This is also where we start our way back, following path n° 4 to the “Gompm Alm” at 1,806 m. After a short break we return to Monte Cervina refuge via path n° 5B and the European Long Distance Wakling Trail.
