Gran Zebrù
Gran Zebrù is an imposing glacier.
The Gran Zebrù (3,851 m) is considered to be one of the most famous mountains of the Ortler-Cevedale mountain group and is situated at the border of South Tyrol, Lombardy and Sondrio.
The first ascent dates back to the year 1864, protagonists of which were F. Tuckett, Buxton as well as the brothers Michael and Franz Biner. They were really curageous, as the Gran Zebrù is not only the second highest mountain of the Ortles-Cevedale mountain group, but also the second highest of South Tyrol.
Particularly alpinists and climbers can look forward to a fascinating panorama as well as a great course. However, this route is really challenging and only recommended to experienced alpinists. As most of the paths traverse the glacier, you need to carry high alpine equipment.
