Cima Libera
A peak close to the Cima del Prete and Pan di Zucchero.
The Cima Libera is situated at the border of Austria and Italy and is one of the main mountains of the Stubai Alps. This 3,418 m high mountain is located close to the Cima del Prete and Pan di Zucchero. The latter is the highest peak of the Stubai Alps.
However, the Cima Libera offers a great view as well as numerous possibilities for ascending via fixed-rope routes glaciated slopes. You can ascent from South Tyrol as well as from Austria.
The route from South Tyrol starts in Masseria Val Ridanna and takes first to the Rifugio Gino Biasi. Other possibilities for stops are the Rifugio Vedretta Piana and the Rifugio Vedretta Pendente. Ascending from the north you can take the path via “Nürnberger Hütte”.
