Meeting Santa Claus on December 2 in Stelvio

There are numerous Santa Claus Parades spread all over the region, but on December 2, 2005 a special Santa Claus Parade takes place in Val Venosta.

The unique Santa Claus Parade of Stelvio with elaborated masks and the so-called “Klosn” tradition is a fascinating festival for young and old alike.
At 2 pm, the parade begins and the Klosn tradition takes place. People wear fearsome donkey masks and big bells, make loud noises and behave like wild donkeys. Then a white-haired Santa Claus appears, accompanied by the three magi and a ragged looking devil with a whip…
