There are many hiking paths near Coldrano: One leads to the Piani di Annenberg meadows with the special steppe vegetation, then over the suspension bridge to the hamlet of Tiss and to the Latschanderwaal irrigation channel.

The second castle, Monte Sant’Anna (Annenberg), stands verifiably on a prehistoric settlement site, but today high-quality wine is produced here.

Outside the village is the Church of St. Lucius - worth seeing are the Gothic murals on the south side and the marble tombstone of the provincial governor Franz Hendl.

It is said that long ago pieces of gold were found under the remains of an old farm: This is the beginning of the legend of how Coldrano (Goldrain) got its name. Rather, it is the Latin word colurona from which the term derives: It means "landscape with many hazel bushes". Today, Coldrano near Laces is nestled in the orchards at the foot of the Val Venosta Monte Sole. The mild climate and the many hours of sunshine allow apricots, apples and wine to thrive well.

The village stretches along both banks of the Adige, which flows right through it: At the bridge over the river is the "Platzl", the village square with its long-established tavern and the shops all around. In between, several venerable buildings are enthroned, such as Coldrano Castle, one of the oldest structures in the village, and the Schanzen Courthouse. The meadow next to the building is still called Galgenwiese (gallows meadow) today. You can visit the Gothic St. Anna Chapel and the Parish Church of St. Lucius, while two other residences produce high-quality products: Monte Sant'Anna Castle focuses on wine and the organic farm "Kräuterschlössl" on herb cultivation.

The Monte Sole is suitable for tours through a barren landscape, most of which is protected: Here, panoramic and high-altitude hikes lead through unique steppe vegetation. In the village below, you can see cyclists getting on and off the train at the Coldrano-Martello train station, taking advantage of the offer of the Val Venosta Railway to also carry bicycles. In winter, the nearby Martello becomes a snow paradise with ski tours, sledge runs and a Nordic ski centre.
