Caminata di Tures

Caminata near Campo Tures is a destination for all those who want to relax a little outside the main village in the midst of meadows

There are three villages called Caminata in South Tyrol: One is in the Val di Vizze near Vipiteno, the other on the Renon, and the third is a small idyllic district of Campo Tures. From here it is only 3 km to the centre of the main village with its shopping facilities and excursion destinations. So you can leave your car in Caminata, because it is only a short bus ride or walk to Campo Tures.

The little village lies directly on the Aurino and therefore on the wild river, which is known for its rafting tours. The protected area of the Aurino Floodplains between Campo Tures and Stegona also begins here: It is designated as a Natura 2000 site according to the Birds Directive and the Flora-Fauna-Habitat Directive. The Pusterbike Cycle Path follows here the course of the river to Brunico, so that you can pay a visit to the town and then cycle back down into the valley again.

In Caminata (Kematen), the St. Francis' Path also starts which leads through the landscape of the Tures Valley to the Riva Waterfalls in Riva di Tures, another district of the municipality. The accommodation facilities include several old farms that were once part of the "Valli di Tures and Aurina Culture Mile" and now await you with farm animals and horses. In winter, the Speikboden Skiing Area is nearby, and Caminata also offers its own sledge run at the Rasteck mountain inn.
