Fiè allo Sciliar

This village is boasting a thousand-year old history.

> Altitude: 880 metres above sea level

Even though the first written documents date back to the 9th century, the origins of this little hamlet called Fiè are probably found in much earlier times (4 thousand years before Christ). An especially valuable item found in its surroundings is an instrument resembling a flute - by now this is the oldest music instrument ever found in South Tyrol…

For several weeks a year the village Fiè allo Sciliar hosts some special events, from the natural food weeks in June to the so-called “Kuchlkastl” - featuring delicious dishes made after ancient recipes - in October…

> We suggest: Pay a visit to the local parish museum and embark on a trip to the Presule Castle in summer!
