Alta Badia

Mountains as far as the eye can see: Alta Badia in the heart of the Dolomites is a popular holiday destination for hikers and skiers

Dolomite peaks such as the 2,665 m high Sassongher and the 2,907 m high Sasso di Santa Croce as well as the Ladin language, one of the three official languages in South Tyrol, characterise Alta Badia, called Hochabtei in German. The alpine region, which covers the rear section of the Val Badia valley, includes the municipalities of Corvara, Badia and La Val.

In terms of sports, Alta Badia offers everything that activity lovers could wish for: Hiking trails lead into the heart of the Dolomites, MTB trails show you the beauty of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park, and near Corvara you will find a 9-hole golf course on a sunny high plateau. In winter, the ski area at the foot of the Sella Group connects Alta Badia with the nearby Alpe di Siusi.
