Branzolo

Not only Laives and Vadena, but also Branzolo is located at the border to Bassa Atesina and Oltradige and is surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards.

Branzolo is a little village characterised by ancient residences and buildings and is rather a typical village of the Bassa Atesina area, even if it is located only few kilometres from Bolzano. Regarding leisure time activities, there are numerous hiking trails and within short time you can reach lake Caldaro, the magic Dolomite mountains, the city of Bolzano, and also Bassa Atesina and the Trentino region are only a stone’s throw away.

Particularly popular in this area are also cycling tours and nordic walking, especially in spring when apple trees are in full blossom, as this is a perfect period for a ride across the fruit orchards spread all over the area.

An event we particularly recommend is the so called “Unterlandler Flößerstechen”, a traditional competition with rafts along the Adige river.
