Meltina

Meltina is a holiday resort situated on Monte Zoccolo.

> Altitude: 1,140 metres above sea level

This picturesque village is located on the Monte Zoccolo. Its forests as well as lush meadows are perfect for extended walks or romantic coach tours in the surroundings.

The village, situated on a hill, is not only accessible via panoramic street, but also via funicular. However, in Meltina you will find the quietness you have always been looking for, for example on one of the farms.
Meltina has already been populated by the Celts, thus the Monte Zoccolo has got a long settlement history. “Meltina” comes from the Lombardic Maletum Castle, which has been destroyed by the Franks in the 6th century.

Meltina has got several localities: Frassinato, Versein and Salonetto. Since recently the village has got a fossil museum with 260 million years old fossils and much more.

> Our special recommendation: visit the museum and do not miss the “Kirchtag”, a traditional public festival that takes place every year on 15th August.
