If you proceed from Bolzano into the Valle Isarco valley along the Brennero state road, you first pass Prato all’Isarco, before you reach the village of Campodazzo. This component locality of the Renon is located at the foot of the homonymous high plateau and is actually situated far away from the village of Collalbo. Nevertheless there is no direct road from Campodazzo to the Renon high plateau.
With its 40 inhabitants only, Campodazzo is located at 373 m asl. The small but mighty village consists of a series of buildings and is traversed by the Brennero state road. The parish church of Campodazzo is dedicated to S. Giuseppe, in its interior you can visit a statue of S. Giuseppe with baby Jesus, a piece of art by the sculptor Franz Tavella.
Our tip: an extended cycling tour on the Valle Isarco cycling trail. You can choose between cycling towards south, so to speak to Bolzano, or towards north, which means to Bressanone. Of course both cities are ideal for making shopping tours.
