Cermes

Of mighty castles and an old irrigation channel

> Altitude: 292 metres above sea level

At only 5 kilometres from the spa town of Merano lies the hamlet of Cermes, named Tscherms in German. Located on gentle rolling slopes it is surrounded by vineyards and orchards and first settlements were recorded in such early times as the Stone Age…

Towering near the village is the majestic Lebenberg Castle. Originally built in the 13th century, the castle was enlarged several times and boasts beautiful halls and rooms nowadays. Join an interesting castle guide and get to know the French flower garden, the three-floors of the castle’s chapel, the courtyards, the knights’ hall as well as the hall of mirrors dating back to the Rococo era.

> We suggest: hiking along the local “Waalweg”, an old irrigation channel, by the Lebenberg Castle, and a visit to the castle!
