Nestling on a sunny mountain slope is the quaint little village of Lagundo. Known as Algund in German, it includes the hamlets of Riolagundo, Foresta with the Forst Brewery, Rio Mulino, Paese boasting the old parish church of Lagundo, Plars and Velloi with beautiful fields and high-altitude pastures. Rich green orchards, gentle rolling hills and colourful vineyards characterise this idyll - it is beautiful here!

More than 160 km of hiking and walking paths and especially the local Waalwege, old irrigation channels that today serve as hiking paths, render the place a true hiking paradise! But also the village itself has a lot to offer. The monastery Maria Steinach, a bridge head of Via Claudia Augusta - the ancient Roman road that led from the Adriatic Sea all the way to Bavaria - as well as valuable frescos and sites of worship are evidence of a colourful past…
By the way: Where the Merano-Bolzano highway reaches Lagundo, you will see a traffic island featuring a special piece of art… just keep your eyes open!

> We suggest: Pay a visit to the new parish church of Lagundo, admire the unique church windows and afterwards try out the oh-so tasty Forst beer!
