Wide orchards and a small church in the middle... this is how the journey through the main village of the municipality of Naturno begins. Here, at an altitude of 528 m, one of the most famous monuments in the country and one of the oldest early Christian churches in South Tyrol was built in the 7th century: It is the St. Proculus Church, known beyond the borders for its pre-Carolingian frescoes. A short walk from it, at the entrance to the village, the Procolus Museum is dedicated to archaeological finds, the history of the area and, of course, the little church itself.

On the way through Naturno village (Naturns Dorf) you will pass the Romanesque St. Zeno Church, the town hall, the primary school and numerous shopping and refreshment facilities. One of the buildings is a long new structure that will house the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park Visitor Centre. The building and the exhibition are entirely inspired by the theme of "Water and Light". All this is watched over by Naturno Castle, the landmark of the village. There are tennis courts and various parking facilities at the edge of the village.

The holiday resort is the starting point for numerous excursions on foot or by bike: The Val Venosta Cycle Path passes by here all the way to Merano, while you can climb higher altitudes by mountain bike. If you are fit enough, you can even tackle the tour across the Passo Gelato to the Petrarca Mountain Hut. This 7-hour tour takes you up to 3,000 m a.s.l. on two wheels and through two South Tyrolean valleys: the Val Senales and the Val Passiria. Pleasant hiking trails, on the other hand, are the Knights’ Path, the Wallburg Path and the Unterstell farms on the Merano High Route.
