Located in the basin near Naturno, Plaus promises relaxation, recreation and serenity. The old village fountain under the land-marked maple tree adds to the special atmosphere of this village. Did you know that the small place boasts a total of five speck factories and that the local energy is won out of vegetable oil?
Plaus boasts several sites of interest that you might visit while strolling across the village. There is for instance the parish church dedicated to St Ulrich and featuring a mighty Romanesque bell tower as well as two baroque paintings by the South Tyrolean artist Simon Ybertrachter (1694-1792). And the cemetery wall depicts the “Dance of Death of Plaus” (see image).
> We suggest: Join a traditional Törggelen evening in October and November and don’t forget to buy some oh-so tasty speck!
