Saltusio, a pretty hamlet that belong to the municipality of San Martino, is the most southern place of beautiful Val Passiria and thus near to the spa town of Merano (9 km). In the surroundings of Saltusio - known as Saltaus in German - you will find the so-called “Schildhöfe”, some precious ancient farms dating back to the 13th century. Definitely worth a visit are the Steinhaus Schildhof, whose mighty walls resemble an old castle, and the battlemented Saltauserhof…
