Passeiertal Walten Almhütte

Valtina

Valtina welcomes you to a natural paradise.

> Altitude: 1,269 metres above sea level

Nestling on a sunny south-facing slope in Val Passiria is the pretty hamlet of Valtina. Most of the farms (see image) date back to the 13th century and are run according to traditional values and practices. Agriculture is of major importance here and nature and mankind are living in harmony and respect with each other.

The hamlet is an ideal starting point for light and demanding hikes up to stunning pastures and mountains. One hike for instance takes you from Valtina to a mighty saddle called Sailertaljoch at 2,359 metres and further to the Bärengrübl and St. Anna (snacks and hearty meals are served) and back to Valtina again.

> We suggest: Visit the near-by spa town of Merano and don’t miss a fascinating hike from one farm to the next!
