This valley, also called “the green valley”, diverts from the Valle Isarco near Bressanone. The rivers which run through the Val Pusteria are the Rienza and the Drava. Travelling thourgh the valley from west to east you will first notice lush meadows and dense forests, while the south of the Alta Val Pusteria is characterised by the majestic peaks of the Dolomiti di Sesto and Lienz as well as the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo. If you love nature and beautiful mountain landscapes, in this valley you will find everything you wish for!
Lovers of culture, however, can look forward to the popular Gustav Mahler Music Weeks.
We suggest: embark on an excursion to the waters of Lago di Braies and Lago di Anterselva situated in the homonymous valleys.
Val Pusteria has a lot to offer the whole year round, from climbing to hiking, mountain biking, paragliding, rafting and much more. And in winter, the near-by ski area of Plan de Corones is great fun for the whole family. Numerous ski runs and state-of-the-art facilities are waiting to be discovered…
