"Issingun", as it used to be called in the past, is one of the larger villages in the municipality of Falzes and the right place for adventure and cooling off. Interestingly, it is about 250 metres lower in altitude than the neighbouring main village of Falzes, still below the 1,000 m mark. Behind the buildings rises Schöneck Castle, which is surrounded by a dark legend and is considered the birthplace of the minnesinger Oswald von Wolkenstein. Today, however, the name Schöneck is far better known for the award-winning gourmet restaurant right next to the ruin.

Just outside the village centre of Issengo (Issing), at the Piazza Weiher square with its bus stop, lies the well-known bathing pond. But the Issengo Pond is much more than that: biotope and local recreation area, rest stop during a bike tour on the Val Pusteria Sun Road and starting point for hikes. In the outdoor pool, the sunbathing lawn at the edge of the forest invites you to relax, while younger visitors can try out the water slide and the playground. Next to the popular pond is the Kronaction Outdoor & Fun Park, one of the largest high-ropes courses in South Tyrol with 14 courses, which rounds off a family day with a dose of adrenaline.

If, on the other hand, a good smell hits your nose, then it's either a pizza at Lake Issengo in the evening, or the herb garden of the Bergila during the day. The mountain pine oil distillery located here has been in existence since 1912 and today produces natural products from certified organically grown herbs. You can visit the distillery during a guided tour. In winter, the Falzes-Issengo cross-country ski track and the ice-skating rink at the Issengo Pond are located near the village. Otherwise, active holidaymakers are drawn to the neighbouring village of Falzes with its toboggan run, ski slope with conveyor belt and connection to the Plan de Corones Skiing Area.
