Valle di Casies

This valley is characterised by its traditions and customs

> Altitude: 1,262 metres above sea level

Including the villages of Colle, S. Maddalena, S. Martino and Durna in Selva, Valle di Casies is one of those valleys, who are largely dominated by agriculture and could preserve their traditions and customs until the present. The legendary Capuchin father Joachim Haspinger, comrade-in-arms of famous freedom fighter Andreas Hofer, was born in Valle di Casies and a monument still reminds his efforts.

The surroundings are ideally-suited to hikes of all kinds, up to the Kaseralm inn, the Laxiden hut or from one farm to the next. And in winter you can look forward to sparkling white woods and trails, lots of peace and unforgettable moments…

> We suggest: Hike along the so-called “Talblickweg” and join in the numerous religious festivals of the valley!
