Known as a market town since 1984, the place Prato allo Stelvio at the heart of the Stelvio Nature Park is surrounded by a beautiful mountain scenery. The nearby Ortles, one of fourteen 3,000 m high mountains, is actually South Tyrol’s highest mountain, featuring a height of 3,905 m. Moreover, in winter there are six ski areas within easy reach (40 minutes by car) - lots of snowy fun and entertainment are guaranteed!
In 2003, a special institution called “aquaprad” opened its doors, which is one of the three nature park information centres of Upper Val Venosta.
