When in 1949/1950 an artificial lake was built in this area, the hamlets of Resia and Curon had to be flooded. Still today, a mighty church spire rising out of the lake reminds of those long passed times. Numerous legends and myths are linked to the sunken hamlets on the bottom of the lake…

In winter, the near-by ski areas of Belpiano and Malga Haider promise lots of fun and entertainment until the end of April. Cross-country skiers can look forward to 100 km of runs and those looking for something different may try out ice sailing on the frozen artificial lake!
