Solda

Solda offers a nature friendly skiing area.

A narrow little road takes you to the pretty mountain village of Solda, surrounded by such majestic mountains as the Zebrù, the Gran Zebrù and the Ortles. Did you know that the hamlet, where centuries ago the oh-so precious iron ore was won, was once known as “Siberia of Tyrol”? Today Solda is rather known for their carefully-planned ski lifts, which make it a truly nature friendly skiing area.

A must for hikers and lovers of culture alike is the nearby Ortles Messner Mountain Museum by extreme Alpinist Reinhold Messner. And even in the village you may find his traces, ranging from his Tibetan yaks on the high-altitude pasture to his Yak & Yeti restaurant and his little Alpine Curiosa Museum…
