Ponte Gardena

Ponte Gardena represents the gateway to Val Gardena

When travelling along the Brennero Motorway towards Chiusa, right before there is the friendly village of Ponte Gardena. Those crossing the bridge and travelling further will soon arrive to the colourful Val Gardena valley. The local emblem shows a blue background representing the Isarco river, white baulks representing the bridge and red waves representing the emblem of the Earls of Wolkenstein.

Ponte Gardena is especially popular in winter, as the ski lifts of Alpe di Siusi and Val Gardena are within easy reach. High above the left banks of the Isarco river towers Castel Forte, featuring a library, a Gothic stube, a hall of knights and fascinating frescoes. The most famous inhabitant of the castle was probably the renowned troubadour Oswald von Wolkenstein. So don’t miss this precious sight!

> We suggest: Cycle along the cycling track Ponte Gardena-Chiusa and go for a picknick on the near-by Alpe di Siusi pasture!
