The market community of Rio di Pusteria is easily recognisable due to its ancient residences and the ruins of the so called “Mühlbacher Klause”. In ancient times, a duty had to be paid at this ruin, whereas from 1526 it has been used as dam. A recently built bypass ensures low-traffic roads and streets, so that you can comfortably stroll around in the village of Rio di Pusteria. What about a relaxing afternoon at one of the lovely Italian bars?
Also Maranza, is within easy reach by cable car. Hikers can look foreward to an enchanting and sunny place ideal for walks. Thanks to its ski resort, also in winter this area has got much to offer!
Hiking, mountaineering, climbing, snowboarding and skiing - that’s what holidays in Rio di Pusteria are all about!
> Our recommendation: do not miss the “Mühlbocha Gossnkuchl” festival, the culinary highlight of the village, that takes place every Wednesday during the summer months!
