Prati

Prati, the chief village of the municipality, is located at the valley entrance and harkens back on a long mining history

Prati is the chief village of the municipality of Vizze and is part of the municipality since the merging of Prati and Vizze in 1931 and is located at 948 m asl at the valley entrance.

Between the 15th and the 18th century, mining had an important role to play for the population, also a smelter was run in Prati.

Part of the sights of Prati are the S. Croce parish church that has been first mentioned in 1337, as well as the octangular chapel located 1 km from the village. Daniel von Elzenbaum zu Wiesenheim let this sacred building build in 1681. Another exe-catcher is Moos Castle, which can be reached from the village via the “Roanderweg” trail. Of course you also have to visit the small town of Vipiteno, located only few km away. It can also be reached on a cycling and walking path.

Cross-country skiing in winter or mountain biking heading Vizze di Dentro with the Passo di Vizze (2,248 m), in the genuine surroundings of Vizze relaxation is a pushover.
