S. Martino is located at 597 m asl in the heart of the parish church and stretches on a flat debris cone at the western Passirio riverside. Particularly striking are not only the guild hall with partially painted façades, but also the Baroque parish church, first mentioned in the 12 the century and dedicated to S. Martino, the patron saint who was also name-giving for the village. In its interior, there are beautiful Baroque altars by the Val Passiria painting school.
San Martino is also an ideal place for hiking holidays. Starting from here you can walk on the Alta Via Meranese high path or to the historic Malga Pfandler Alm, where the famous Tyrolean freedom fighter Andreas Hofer lied hidden. The offer regarding leisure is varied both in summer and winter. There is a public swimming pool, tennis courts, a modern climbing gym, possibilities for snow-shoeing and toboggan runs.
