Description

By bus we travel through the Vinschgau Valley, passing Mals and the hamlet of Ulten, up to just before the village of Planeil. Here our summit hike begins. We first follow a section of the Vinschgau high trail before turning onto trail 12A, which leads us on a pleasant ascent through forests and alpine meadows directly to the summit at 2,324 meters.

During our break at the top (lunch from your own backpack), we enjoy stunning panoramic views over the entire Upper Vinschgau, the peaks of the Ortler massif, and as far as Lake Resia. After lunch, we descend through flower-filled alpine meadows, open forest clearings, and finally through woodland down to the mountain village of Matsch. After a stop, we return by bus to Algund.
