Sculpture Garden in Pochi

The artist Sieglinde Tatz-Borgogno has created the “Garden of Desire” in Pochi near Salorno, which is well worth seeing

In Pochi, a tiny district of Salorno, located in the south of South Tyrol at 565 m a.s.l., a small deciduous forest has been transformed into a veritable world of myth. Huge hands sprout from the ground, bronze figures stand alone or in pairs in the forest, and boards remind visitors of equal opportunities for men, women and children. This is the sculpture garden of the local artist Sieglinde Tatz-Borgogno, also known as the "Garden of Desire" - "Garten der Sehnsucht" in German, "Giardino dei Desideri" in Italian.

The outdoor exhibition shows 560 artworks in bronze, marble and ceramics, as well as some installations. The open-air museum thus combines freedom with harmony and art with nature. A unique experience, where the incidence of light and the daytime also create very different impressions. Along the path, which leads through the small forest, a few benches invite to linger. Beautiful panoramic views on the Valle dell'Adige valley complete the open-air museum.

The Sculpture Garden in Pochi - "Skulpturengarten Buchholz" in German, "Giardino delle sculture di Pochi" in Italian - is a collaboration between the municipality of Salorno and the talented artist: She provides the sculptures, the municipality takes care of the maintenance of the garden, its promotion and signage. And how to reach the sculpture garden? It is situated a few minutes' walk from the centre of Pochi di Salorno.
