Bike trip through the apple blossom in the area of Merano

At the beginning of April the area of Merano is in full bloom. There’s nothing better than to explore this region by bicycle now. A proposal for a bike trip.

On the Val Venosta Cycle Route we start at Lagundo and cycle up to Rablà, where we branch off to the Cutraun road to pass the state road and proceed towards Parcines. The route consistently proceeds through blooming apple orchards here. In the village of Parcines we branch off to the Vertigen road and then to the “Partschinser Waalweg” path, which we follow for about 400 metres (no asphalt). Especially at the bridge it’s time to get off the bike and to wheel. Top priority here – slow!

The again asphalted small road leads us to Plars di Sopra with the beautiful S. Ulrico church and then past Plars Castle to the old country road which proceeds towards the village of Lagundo. Always in an easterly direction we cycle towards Merano until the district of Quarazze. Via the Laurin and Weingartner road we come back to Lagundo.
