Dolomiti Balloon Festival

Discover every year in January the stunning world of the Dolomites from the air at this international festival in Dobbiaco

The so-called Balloon Week of the Dolomiti Balloon Festival opens with live music and the fascinating Balloon Night Glow, a unique and colorful event. It represents a a worthy replacement of the Christmas in the Dolomites which ends on this day. The first-class event offers, however, also a hot-air balloon race with participants from all over the world and an exciting programme with tethered balloon flights for kids and the Model Balloon Glow in the Nordic Arena in Dobbiaco.

If you'd like, you can touch the sky and feel the magic of a hot-air balloon flight in the Dolomites personally: The international meeting is scheduled every year in January and offers flights and vouchers, the perfect gift for a very special person. A hot-air balloon flight takes half a day - between inflating and deflating, and the traditional "baptism" of the balloon - the flight itself about an hour. The direction depends on the wind, so is not possible to determine the destination. The starting point, however, is known: It lies beneath the secondary school in Dobbiaco village.
