Nordic Walking

It is the trend sport of the season and is not only healthy, but is also fun: Nordic Walking.

Nordic walking classes are provided by a rich number of South Tyrolean holiday resorts, as right walking must be accurately learned.
The term Nordic walking comes from the English language, the sports itself from Finland, which is implied by „Nordic“. This is where this sports used to be a summer training method for cross-country skiers and biathletes. The basic principle is rather easy: contrary to normal walking, it additionally involves the arms and works your upper body.

In Val Pusteria, strictly speaking in the surroundings of Plan de Corones, a special trail network for Nordic Walking has been established, offering easy tours and circuits of medium difficulty. The so-called „Nature.Fitness.Park.Kronplatz.Dolomiti“ includes 285 km of trails with a series of exercising stations.
However, not only in Val Pusteria, there are Nordic Walking trails, but also in other parts of South Tyrol. Naz-Sciaves offers a „NatureAktiv Park“, in Funes you can find a “Nordic Walking Park“, while Alpe di Siusi makes you enjoy this sport along the Nordic Walking eco-trail „Sagenhaftes Wasser“.

> Our tip: Join a Nordic Walking class, follow the instructions of your coach and benefit from some efficient walking and a great workout. A perfect way to enjoy the stunning natural landscape of South Tyrol.
