An easy winter walk leads from Obereggen to the Häusler Sam mountain inn on Mount Sommo

The upper car park at the Latemar Dolomites Skiing Area is the starting point for our winter hike to Häusler Sam mountain inn. Trail no. 9 (signposted 'Lago di Carezza') takes us through snow-covered coniferous forest near the Bewallerhof farm above the hamlet of Hennewinkl.
Afterwards, we follow signpost no. 8 and trail marker 'S' as far as Häusler Sam. The path remains wide throughout and has only short sections with gentle inclines.
Meadow clearings open up views across the surrounding mountains, including Mt. Corno Bianco and Mt. Corno Nero, as well as the Latemar Group and the Catinaccio Group. The alpine inn at 1,610 metres above sea level provides a convenient place to stop for lunch. We return to Obereggen along the same route. This route can also be completed as a summer hike.
