Wandern im Seiser-Alm-Gebiet

Hiking in Alpe di Siusi area

Mount Sciliar and the largest high altitude plateau in Europe make of the hiking area of Alpe di Siusi a unique holiday destination.

The Alpe di Siusi, the largest high altitude plateau in Europe, can be very easily reached by cable car and offers an exceptional variety of walking and hiking trails. No matter if you prefer walking and enjoying the great panorama of mount Sassopiatto and mount Sassolungo or climbing mount Sciliar, the famous emblem of South Tyrol, the area of Alpe di Siusi offers plenty of possibilities for every nature passionate.

By the way: Did you know that long time ago Alpe di Siusi was home to witches? If this makes you curious than we suggest you to go on a hiking tour to the so-called “Witches Benches“ (”Hexenbänke“). Also very recommendable is, among others, the farm trail “Oachner Höfeweg“, starting from Castel Presule in Fié allo Sciliar at the foot of mount Sciliar.
