From the pilgrimage site of Pietralba to the Monte San Pietro mountain hut

Hiking from the pilgrimage site of Pietralba near Nova Ponente to the sunny Monte San Pietro mountain hut on Mount Regolo.

We start our hiking tour at the parking space of the monastery Madonna di Pietralba with its beautiful views of the South Tyrolean mountains.

Following trail no. 2, a broad forest trail also accessible for prams, we cross a small mountain stream over a bridge and finally reach the Monte San Pietro mountain hut after about 30 minutes. The garden around the mountain hut is very nice decorated, just as its inside. In fact, it is a very cosy place and children can have a lot of fun in the forest and the meadows around it. There is also a petting zoo and a teppee. And not to forget the nice Tyrolean dishes they offer…

After some hours of sun and relaxation at the Monte San Pietro mountain hut we start our way back to our starting point. Arrived at the parking space, we enjoy the beautiful panorama of Mount Catinaccio and Mount Latemar in the romantic red evening light.
Please note: If you want to do a longer hiking tour, you can start in the village of Monte San Pietro and/or hike from the Monte San Pietro mountain hut to the Laabalm mountain hut.
