Hike from the Col Pradat to the Rifugio Puez

Starting from Col Pradat, we climb up to the plateau Gardenaccia to reach the famous refuge Puez

We take the cableway in Colfosco and in few minutes we come to Col Pradat, 2.030 m a.s.l. where we can enjoy a wonderful view of some Dolomites summits: from Fanes to the Marmolada, the huge Sella range. We can see the wonderful green landscape of the valley from the Pass Gardena until Corvara. We start walking down on the path no. 4A, after 100 metres we are already climbing up and the path becomes steeper.

We follow the path no. 4 and we walk through the amazing Edelweiss valley, here the path becomes narrower, on the left we see the Ciampac lake and on the right the face of the Sassongher. We walk near the lake Ciampac, which is shallow at the moment, and we climb up to the col Ciampëi and from here we can admire the Vallelunga valley.

After this climb, we keep walking following the path no. 2. We come to the refuge Puez after 2 hours walking, so it is time for us to have a break and our lunch. Walking toward the refuge we saw an interesting mountain, which stands out on the plateau, it is the Col de la Sone. We decide to see it closely on our way back, so we take the path no. 5 and we come across a suggestive landscape: the contrast of the moonscape at a height of 2.500 m asl and the bright colours of the Alpine flowers surrounded by the sunny Dolomites is very moving!
