Nova Ponente

Mountains and ski runs characterise Nova Ponente.

Located on a high plateau, Nova Ponente is surrounded by such majestic mountains as the Sciliar massif, Monte Catinaccio and Latemar in the east, Monte Nero and Monte Corno in the south and the Mendola mountains in the north. Ideal conditions for mountain enthusiasts I’d say!

Climbing routes and panoramic hiking trail take you right into the middle of the local mountain world. In winter, you can take advantage of the local ski lift, which brings you from the village centre to the a beautiful ski area known as Ski Center Latemar-Obereggen. 46 km of ski runs and numerous cross-country skiing and tobogganing opportunities are waiting for you. Moreover, there is also a sports centre providing numerous activities.

We suggest: a hike to the St Helena Church, where you can listen to the oldest bell all over South Tyrol, and a visit at the museum on the ground floor of Castle Thurn!
