The locality of Val di Vizze and its main village Prati is not only one of the most northern localities or the region, but is also located close to the border of Austria.
The 23 km long valley extending in the surroundings of Vipiteno is surroudned by numerous glaciers and impressive mountains of three thousand metres. Driving along the valley you can enjoy beautiful mountains as for example the Gran Pilastro (3,510 m), the highest mountain of the Zillertal Alps. Those who aim high will have the agony of choice, as there are a large number of high paths.
Val di Vizze is characterised by a 25 km long network of cross-country ski tracks and is an insides’ tip for those who love this sport. Skiing across meadows and forests in winterly setting… In summer there are a range of mountain bike trails and hiking paths. Moreover the valley is particularly popular with geologists, as it is characterised by mineral wealth. This is where you come across beryl and other minerals.
