Tirolo - known as Dorf Tirol in German - locates at only 6 km from Merano and thus right at the heart of the holiday area Merano & surroundings. With the sun shining on almost 300 days a year Tirolo is the ideal place for vines and palms and boasts thus a special kind of flair. In the close-by surroundings of the village towers mighty Tirol Castle, which actually gave the region its name. Lovers of culture might pay a visit to the South Tyrolean Museum of Culture and History housed in Tirol Castle.
