Valdaora

A little idyll in between Prati and Plan de Corones.

When driving from Brunico towards Dobbiaco and turning right off the main street you will arrive to Valdaora. The village is divided into three parts, Valdaora di Sotto, Valdaora di Mezzo, Valdaora di Sopra and Sorafurcia. A rich amount of lovely hiking trails take you to the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park, the Vedrette di Ries Nature Park and the Dolomites of Braies.

Those visiting the place in July or August shouldn’t miss a culinary highlight called “Standlschmaus”, offering the best specialities ever. In winter, the Plan de Corones ski area is within easy reach, which makes Valdaora a popular winter resort.
