Together with numerous little hamlets - Colsano, Juval, Trumsberg and Ciardes on the left side of the valley and Monte Franco, Lacinigo and Tomberg on the right side - the municipality of Castelbello is known as the gateway to the Val Venosta valley.
The emblem of the municipality is the castle towering high above the place (see picture). The castle dates back to the 13th century. Its Roman frescoes and the permanent exhibition “Via Claudia Augusta” might be visited from April to October.
> We suggest: a hike along the so-called “Schnalswaalweg” and a visit to the Juval Castle, featuring an interesting Tibetan collection!
