Where the ruin of Montani towers high above, right there begins the Val Martello valley. Its highest point are the glaciers of the Cevedale massif at an altitude of 3,700 m. Already in the pre-Roman era, the valley served as a pasture for cattle and sheep.
Today the Val Martello valley is known above all for its oh-so tasty strawberries - due to the fairly high altitude - and its cross-country skiing centre, also featuring a biathlon run. Only recently the valley got a new sports centre called “Trattl”, boasting an indoor climbing hall, a fitness centre, a mini golf course and much more.
> We suggest: Visit one of the lovely local farms, especially famous with children, and hike to the artificial lake of Gioveretto!
