Villandro stretches on a sun-drenched mountain slope in Valle Isarco and comprises lovely localities, that is to say S. Maurizio, S. Stefano, S. Valentino. Striking is above all the natural landscape prevailing in the village, as the municipal territory stretches from the grapevines in the valley floor to the edelweiss in the mountains. Worth visiting is also the ArcheoParc, the show mine as well as the S. Stefano and Lorenzo parish church. -
The villages of Rio Pusteria, Maranza and Valles are situated in the heart of the Gitschberg-Jochtal holiday area, characterised by lovely alpine pastures. The sunny high plateau provides a vast network of hiking trails. Also cities such as Bolzano and Bressanone can easily be reached from this area. From the top of the Gitschberg you can by the way admire 500 mountain peaks, from the Ortles mountain group to the Brenta Dolomites and the Stubai Alps. -
The lovely Val Ridanna stretches from Vipiteno towards west, reaching the Stubai Alps. Over centuries mining used to be the main source of income for the population. Monteneve, which is considered the highest-located mine of Europe, is situated at the end of the Val Ridanna and is absolutely worth a visit. -
The Racines-Giovo skiing area comprises the area between 1,300 m - 2,150 m asl and is one of the most snow-sure, offering state-of-the-art lift facilities. Also the well-groomed slopes make this skiing area a popular winter holiday destination. A high-altitude cross-country ski trail and a fun park complete the offer in the skiing area. -
The winter sports area of Gitschberg-Jochtal stretches from 1,400 to 2,500 m asl and can be reached from Rio di Pusteria via the two villages of Maranza and Valles. Gitschberg-Jochtal does not only stand for skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing and cross-country skiing, but also for hiking in summertime. By the way, the Gitschberg-Jochtal skiing areas are particularly family-friendly.
Right after the border crossing you enter Alta Val d’Isarco. The unique narrow valley stretches to the village of Fortezza, where it meets with the valley of Valle Isarco. The latter covers the area between Fortezza and Bolzano and has a lot to offer…
We suggest: Embark on an excursion to the Gilfenklamm Gorge and watch an outstanding natural event!
Numerous sport and leisure activities are provided, ranging from horse riding and golf to paragliding, rafting and much more. And in winter, the ski regions of Gitschberg-Jochtal and Racines-Passo Gioves provide the ultimate skiing fun!
