The mountain village of Lappago (Lappach) is located at the head of the water-rich Valle di Selva dei Molini valley, which is called Lappago Valley in the rear section. It presents itself like on a postcard from another time: surrounded by the Zillertal Alps, clear mountain air, alpine meadows and old farms. They divide into Lappago di Sotto, Lappago di Sopra and Cesa and cling to the mountain slopes. Here you are in summer retreat, so to speak, because at more than 1,400 m a.s.l. even the hottest summer days begin with a fresh breeze that awakens the spirits.

Two cultural sights are located directly in the village centre: the parish church of Lappago, a small mountain church with a beautiful ceiling painting, and the "The Magic of Water" Museum. It is housed in the basement of the rectory right next door and tells in an impressive way about the life-giving and destructive power of water. The museum is the end point of the Valle di Selva dei Molini Valley Path, which takes you all the way to the main village of Selva dei Molini.

Several water trails also start from the museum to the natural highlights around Lappago: The well-secured path through the Lappago Gorge leads to several waterfalls where ice climbers can be seen in winter. High above Lappago lies Lake Neves, a reservoir, whose construction a few decades ago helped to shape the history of the village. A toll road leads to the impressive dam wall, where the spectacular Neves High Route starts. In winter, the road is closed and reserved for ski tourers.
